Which service needs to return first?
Prioritise business services and agree the recovery time and acceptable data loss for each. Restoring files is different from restoring an application and making it usable.
What else does restoration depend on?
Identity, DNS, network access, application licensing, keys and the people doing the work may all be dependencies. Make those visible in the plan.
What failure must the design survive?
A local power outage, a regional incident and a compromised administrator account are different scenarios. Location, access separation and backup protection must follow the relevant risks.
Who owns each step?
Agree roles across the customer, MSP, cloud provider, application vendor and recovery host. A handover gap can be as consequential as a technology gap.
What has actually been tested?
Define an appropriate restore exercise and evidence. Revisit the plan when systems, data or operating responsibilities change.
